In addition to supporting secondary education and Chinese schools, Toronto Cathay Lions Club has also established several Scholarship Programs at the university level:
  1. The Toronto Cathay Lions Club Scholarship in Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Medicine was established in 1987 by Dr. Kai Ming Kan to recognise high academic achievement. It is presented annually to the final year student who obtains the highest academic standing in the second year of BSc (PT) Program.
  2. The Toronto Cathay Lions Club Scholarship in Occupation Therapy at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Medicine, was established in 1987 by Dr. Kai Ming Kan to recognise high academic achievement. It is presented annually to the student who obtains the highest standing in year one of the MSc(OT) program.
  3. The Toronto Cathay Lions Club Chinese Language scholarship at York University was established by James Lee. A Scholarship is awarded to the most outstanding student in the third-year level Chinese language course offered by the Department of Languages, Literature and Linguistic. The recipient will be judged on academic achievement and have demonstrated a special interest in Chinese Language and Culture.
